How safe is a safety deposit box? QSDC’s purpose built facility is discreetly positioned in a commercial precinct. Deposit boxes constructed of solid steel with duel key lock system, (you hold only key). Access by appointment only. 24 hour off site monitored security.

 What can't I put in my safety deposit box?As QSDC’s terms & conditions (4.1a) state you may not store Liquid, Hazardous, Dangerous, Perishable, or Explosive goods. How many safety deposit boxes can I have? Having 4 sizes of safety deposit boxes to choose from, any multiple of boxes may be rented provided available.
What happens if I lose the key to my safety deposit box? In the case of lost or damaged keys QSDC will arrange to have your box drilled (in your presence ), replace & allocate new lock & keys.
Do I receive a refund if I end the term on my safety deposit box prematurely? Yes refunds are possible however conditions apply.
What happens to my safety deposit box if i die?
If you die your safety deposit box becomes frozen until such time that the death certificate has been produced buy a person that is lawfully acting on behalf of the estate. I have a will, should the contents of my safety deposit box be included? QSDC suggests you obtain advice from your legal advisors.
Can I arrange for others to access the contents of my safety deposit box? When you apply for a safety deposit box, you have the option to norminate one authorised person to have the same access availability as yourself.
If a safety deposit box is considered to be 'abandoned', what happens to its contents? Terms & conditions – ( 7 ) QSDC abides by the law relating to disposal of uncollected goods in the state of Queensland.
Are the contents of my safety deposit box insured in event of theft or damage?
As the contents of a safety deposit box is known only to the key holder, QSDC is unable to offer insurance on the contents.
Some key holders do arrange their own insurance cover.
What happens to the contents of my safety deposit box if I do not keep up with payments? QSDC will contact key holder to return keys & remove contents of box.
How safe are the contents of my safety deposit box in case of fire, flood or other disasters? Being constructed of stainless & steel, also housed in a solid concrete facility, the risk of fire & flood is minimal. ( 2005 – 1 in 100 year flood – no damage caused to this facility ) |
